A Week in Preview.

This week I look forward to seeing the biggest debacle of a game being shut down.  I was a proud 3 account owner of SWG before the CU and NGE.  I suffered through the Combat Upgrade but after the NGE I retired my Jedi and his "Blue Glowie" Form.    I thought it was pathetic the excuses they used and I never went back to SWG again.  Not even when I had an all access SOE Pass for EQ2.  So as the servers shut down and this horrid excuse of a game goes in the crapper I send out one last "Fuck You Smedley, you fucking piece of shit retard!"

I can hardly wait to get my Glowstick out and running in SW:TOR when my early access kicks in.  While this will never be an SWG, I don't mind.  I love the game for what it is and am looking forward to dominating some bitch ass Jedi with my SOCOM buddies.

How the fuck are people still bitching about the damn Preorder after Bioware ADDED two more days to it.  Not having the a grace period after launch to enter your CD codes is kinda shitty (Thankfully I have an in store pickup on mine.)  Seriously though, they added two more days so they could tier the launch and not have a horrid launch like 99% of the other MMOs out there.  SO shut your mouth, wait for your email and play EARLY when your allowed too.

Im going to catch up on some movies, play a little Saint's Row the Third and do some chores so when the game releases I will be primed and ready to go.


My daily rant today is reserved for SW:ToR Customer support and Best Buy.  I purchased a Collector's Edition Box Set after thanksgiving to go with my Standard Edition.  Needless to say my Best Buy code was "already in use."     So I contacted SW:ToR and provided all my information to them.  I got an email back asking for screen shots, so I sent them back, not once but twice. (Keep in mind there are days in between these emails to and from Customer Support.)   So finally last night I get an updated code from Customer Support, I go to enter it today and its a god damn Standard Edition code.  9 days before Early Access starts and I still cant get a fucking proper code.     I am seriously worried about the Customer Support in this game.

So today I don't think I am going to rant.

SW:TOR Beta is finally going down after this weekend.  We are less then 2 weeks away from early access and three weeks away from launch.  Im going to put together a list of why I love this game.

#1: Its not WoW.
No matter what any troll will tell you, this game is not WoW.  No auto attack, Companions, Crafting system, and last but not least Lightsabers.  I have played WoW off and on through every major expansion.  I loved it for what it was, I enjoyed being a hardcore raider, but in the end I got tired of the game. I dont know nor do I care that this game is a WoW Killer.  In the end I will play it.

#2: The Stories:
Ive played every Sith Class off the starting planets and The Inquisitor/Sorcerer into the 30s in the 3 beta weekends I have had a chance to play in.  While the Inquisitor line starts out a little week, the asshole overseer is the reason I kept coming back, I know I am going to triumph but to do it so I can gloat in my mind over him makes it worth it.

I like the Bounty Hunter as well, I am almost wrapped up with the Drumoond Kass line on him and enjoying the freelance style as well.


#3 Its fucking Star Wars.
Its just that simple, I get to kill shit with force lighting and a light saber.  I love it.


There are still lots of little bugs in the game, timing/channel bars not showing, invis companions in cutscenes, character professions transferring from one toon to another, but all in all none of them are a deal breaker and will cause me to cancel my Collector's Edition.

First and foremost before I rant today I just want to say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

I have been blessed with a great family and awesome friends over my live.


That being said, I am ready with a short one today.

For those of you dumbass people who are asking for rewards for Beta Testing a game.....unplug your computer and throw it out the window.

First of all, everyone and their brother is in this beta weekend.  Honestly it should just be called an open beta.

Secondly, you get nothing for beta testing,  it even says as much in the Game Testers Agreement (which Im sure you read instead of just clicked past it.)  Your reward for beta testing is getting a look at the game already.  Quit asking for more.

The world is filled with stupid people

They come from all walks of life, rich, poor, white, black, Latin, Asian, etc etc.

I am reminded about this everyday,  How hard is it to read a forum?  Does it take an extraordinary amount of brain power to read a few pages back or even use a search function?

Then why the fuck do I log into to many different forums and see the same damn question asked and answered 700 fucking times.

READ YOU FUCKING RETARDS.   99.9% of the time your not the first person to have the problem you are having.

Everyone has off days, even weeks and months but the mouthbreathers are multiplying and its a damn shame.

So I had the chance to Beta Test Star Wars: The Old Republic on the first weekend of November.  While I saw it had some issues, it had 2 major things going for it. #1 it was Star Wars, #2 The Story by Bioware was really good.

Trying to fill my void with not being able to play anymore I've been on various forums just trying to get information.

Mostly what I have found was people bitching, crying, complaining about a game that has not even been released yet.

People bitch that the Beta Weekend which is a privilege is gonna be a tiered invite.  People bitch about the Early access being a tiered invite.  People bitch that the game has no damage meters.  People bitch that the game has no this, no that, its a WoW Clone, its Not enough like WoW.

I am damn sick of it.

I am a 14 year MMO veteran.  Starting in 97 with UO, I have been playing MMOs pretty much non stop.  EQ, EQ2, EQOA, FFXI, FFXIV, WoW, SWG, MxO, Hero, LoL, LOTRO, UO, and the list goes on and on and on.  Ive played everything from Sandboxes to Theme Parks and everything between.  Some I hated, some I loved.

So I say this to the developers out there, for the most part, do not listen to gamers.  They are idiots that have no idea what they want.  Selfish people who piss moan and complain with what they have yet still stick around and play.  DO NOT pull an SWG or EvE (Out of Ship) ever but do your thing.  People will come and people will go but do not give to much power to the players or they will ruin your game.

Now on to my answers to people bitching about shit:

#1 Tiered intro into Beta:
Get the fuck over it, its a beta, its not for you its for Bioware.  Be happy your getting in  at all.

#2 Full Time Beta Servers not for Weekend Testers
Shut the fuck up you whiny bitches. Be happy that you have got to play the game more then others and you were lucky enough to be selected.  Let the Weekenders have their fun, your not special.  I appreciate the work you put in to the game to make it better but it'll all be gone soon anyways.

#3 Tiered entry to Early Release
It sucks but really its just a privilege. You paid nothing extra for it, so suck it up, take it when you get it and get into the game.

#4 Game is a WoW Clone
I see similar things yes, but WOW ripped alot off from other games as well.  Companions and the Story distinguish this game from WoW hands down.

#5 Make the game more like WoW
No, no, Fuck No. You are an idiot go back to WoW.  Its that simple.  I dont want a easy mode game.  This game is easy enough already, do not dumb it down anymore.

#6 I want damage meters
Great, I don't but this one is not one Ill bitch about to much.  I don't like damage meters as they cause people to turn into elitist assholes.I support the easy fix to this, Bioware please allow Mods.
